She took him to the Scotia to say goodbye
The low-lit conversation was hung dry
All spent passions were heading for the sea
First flows of migration and memory
Her beauty was all he had left to hold
Other loves churned waters of her soul .
To be and let the river flow
Final moments on the Broomielaw
And for all their tears the river did cry
From all their loves the river ran bye.
