Megan Kennedy’s immersive drawings capture the hypnotic power of nature
“Wind Drawings is an ongoing series that documents weather behavior, set in motion when a drawing medium is acted upon by the wind. Inspired by incidental impressions made in nature and in the urban landscape, the driving concepts behind the project derive from an interest in chronicling mark making events on a static canvas – an approach influenced by my background in abstract photography.
Despite advances in weather forecast technology, the exact behavior of the wind remains somewhat unpredictable. This unpredictability and the nature of the drawing process culminates in abstract studies of aeolian phenomena and other weather behaviors.”
